Spotlight: CART and Closed Captioning Services

by admin on February 21, 2013

It is National Court Reporting & Captioning Week!  Paradigm Reporting & Captioning is a proud provider of closed-captioning and CART services.   CART is an acronym that stands for Communication Access via Realtime Translation.   These services benefit the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities by capturing the spoken word, instantly translating it into text, and subsequently transmitting that text to television screens, computer screens, stadium screens, iPads or cell phones, thus creating for them equal access to audible communication.  Whether in a classroom, a board room, a sports stadium, a doctor’s office or simply watching television, CART and closed-captioning services provide access to communication for those with hearing impairments.

Hear what one of our clients had to say about her CART accommodations during law school.  Jessica writes:

“CART is a fantastic accessibility tool for people with hearing loss who primarily use English. CART is an especially wonderful accommodation for aging baby boomers, late deafened persons and persons who rely on a precise English translation. As a law student with hearing loss, CART allowed me to understand verbatim what was being taught, in real-time. Even after graduating, I rely on CART every day for closed captions to watch the evening news, basketball games, or legislative hearings.

On a personal note, I was fortunate for the opportunity to work with Paradigm reporting For two years. Their ability to handle a fast pace and technical jargon amazed me every day. Their team was professional, personable, and reliable. If only I could work with them every day, I would be thrilled! Many thanks to Team Paradigm!”
