Simon Velasquez and William Johnson

Paradigm Reporting & Captioning hosted its 7th Annual Veterans History Project Day on Saturday, October 29th Downtown Minneapolis.

The Veterans History Project was created by Congress in the year 2000 with the mission of collecting first-hand oral testimonies of US military veterans and preserving them for posterity at the Library of Congress.  The National Court Reporters Foundation is a long-time partner of the Veterans History Project and has promoted the initiative within NCRA membership to help transcribe as many veteran stories as possible.  Paradigm President and CEO and past NCRF Char Jan Ballman has spoken to court reporters and court reporting firm owners across the country on how to host a VHP event in their areas.

Paradigm’s 2016 event honored U.S. Army veterans William Johnson and Simon Velasquez, who served in World War II and during the Vietnam Era, respectively.   These veterans were the 38th and 39th oral histories transcribed by Paradigm for the Library of Congress since 2010.
