San Francisco, CA: Paradigm President and CEO Jan Ballman; VP of CART & Captioning, Lisa Richardson – RPR, CRR, CBC, CCP; and Court Reporter Merilee Johnson – RMR, CRR, CCP, CBC, RSA, were pleased to be in attendance at the National Court Reporters Association’s Annual Convention and Expo at the Hilton in San Francisco, CA. Between career-enhancing seminars, the latest-and-greatest technology demonstrations, wonderful exhibitors, speed and realtime competitions, and the installation of new officers, this gathering is a true celebration of the court reporting profession, and the largest gathering of court reporters in our industry.
While in San Francisco, Ballman presented a seminar with Merilyn Sanchez, RMR, CRR, entitled “Powered by NCRF: New Tricks, Tips and Techniques.” NCRF unveiled a Tool Box that will provide ongoing resources to students, court reporters and firm owners. While new ideas were discussed, established initiatives were highlighted as well, including the Veterans History Project. This program is particularly close to Ballman’s heart, as Paradigm hosts an annual event at their downtown Minneapolis office to capture wartime stories of American military veterans. NCRA partnered with the Veterans history Project back in 2013, and aspires to collect and preserve as many oral histories as possible with the help of their court reporting partners across the country.
