Minneapolis, MN: Paradigm Court Reporting & Captioning President Jan Ballman was honored by Minnesota Women Lawyers with the “Service to MWL Award” at their 41st Annual Meeting at Windows on Minnesota in the IDS Center Downtown Minneapolis. This award was created to recognize an MWL member whose contributions to the organization have substantially advanced its mission through initiative, innovation and leadership.
As Jan is a court reporter, she is an associate member of Minnesota Women Lawyer organization. Ms. Ballman has served many roles in the organization throughout the years. According to her nomination, “Through Jan’s initiative and innovation, she established MWL’s Legal Wine Lover’s Affinity Group, and has co-chaired the group since its inception. Jan also currently co-chairs the Research Committee, and was previously a key committee member during the creation of The MWL Compendium. Furthermore, Jan consistently supports MWL individually and corporately through MWL’s annual Partnership. Jan is a strong advocate for women on many fronts, and exhibits countless qualities of a role model and mentor for women. Her efforts on behalf of MWL during the past program year have helped numerous women make connections and have greatly contributed to advance MWL’s mission.”
Other honorees at the Annual Meeting on May 15th included Faegre Baker Daniels for the Leadership Award, Susan Segal – Minneapolis City Attorney for the Myra Bradwell Award, and Jessica Alm – Hamline Law Student, for the Equal Justice Award.
