Paradigm welcomed to their offices in Downtown Minneapolis eleven military veterans representing four wars to share their stories, which were captured live by court reporters and videographers, and which will ultimately be housed and maintained in the United States Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
The VHP was started by Congress back in 2000 as an effort to collect and preserve oral histories of American veterans. The National Court Reporters Foundation has partnered with the Library to help collect these stories. Paradigm President Jan Ballman, Chair-Elect of the NCRF Board, has dedicated a day each year since 2010 to collect stories from local Twin Cities veterans and honor them for their service to our country.
This year was especially meaningful and memorable for Jan, as Paradigm honored her father, Russell W. Bovee, and his best friend, Ernie McHale, who met while serving in the Korean War.
We always say that VHP Day is “the best day of the year at Paradigm.” It is truly a privilege to honor these American veterans, capture their amazing stories, and wholeheartedly thank them for their service to our country.
