Bloomington, MN: Paradigm Court Reporting & Captioning was proud to attend and sponsor the ADARA Conference May 29th-June 1st at the Bloomington, Minnesota Hilton. ADARA, American Deaf Advocacy and Rehabilitation Association, strives to provide communication solutions and an inclusive language community that allows equal access to information for all.
Every two years, ADARA holds a national conference, and Minnesota was excited to host this year’s event. The ADARA Convention offers opportunities for professionals who work with the deaf and hard-of-hearing community to come together to exchange ideas, and discuss ways of improving access to communication.
Here at Paradigm Court Reporting & Captioning, we are passionate about providing services that level the playing field for our deaf and hard of hearing clients. Our court reporters provide CART (Communications Access Realtime Translation) and captioning services using their stenography machines to provide voice-to-text translation instantly. Whether at a conference, in a classroom, at a sports arena, or even watching the local news, our highly skilled reporters can translate the spoken word to text instantly.
According to the Center for Hearing and Communication, an estimated 38 million people in this country suffer with some degree of hearing loss. ADARA’s websites states that among its goals is to “bring about a better understanding of deaf individuals as a whole by encouraging students, professional persons and laymen to develop more than a superficial understanding of the needs and problems.” As the number of people with hearing loss grows, we come to appreciate the work of organizations like ADARA even more.
