Week 10:  Paradigm’s 100 Days of Healthy Eating

We are challenged, this week, to avoid refined oils for Paradigm Court Reporting’s 100 Days of Healthy Eating.  There are many problems with refined oil.  They are also something that we encounter often in our diets, whether we realize it or not.  Some examples include vegetable oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil, cooking spray, and margarine.  These oils are highly processed; many come from genetically modified corn, canola or soy; and they are oxidized for longer shelf life.  Cooking spray, in particular, has a rather disturbing list of problems …

Fortunately, there are healthy oils that we can use instead.  Butter, olive oil, flaxseed oil and sesame oil are all better-for-you alternatives.  If you go online, there are sites that teach how to make homemade cooking spray.  Small changes, like choosing your oils wisely, is just one of the ways one can better Stay Fabulous!
