We’re “feeling fine in Week 9” of Paradigm Court Reporting’s 100 Days of Healthy Eating Challenge. This week, the challenge is to avoid refined sweeteners including, but not limited to: white sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, splenda, stevia. Not only do most of us add sugar and sweeteners to our food and beverages, there is a surprising amount of sugar already present.
As we know, sugar, especially in excess, is not good for us. Sugar can suppress the immune system, lead to certain cancers and diseases, cause tooth decay, and lead to obesity. But let’s face it… It sure tastes good!
As this challenge progresses, it is important to note that participants aren’t getting through these weeks flawlessly. But we are certainly increasing our awareness for what is in our food, and taking measures to improve our eating habits.
